Portsmouth, NH Day Trip

Today Jamie and I decided to take a day trip to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. We took our bikes with us so we could ride up and down all the back roads in Portsmouth. We had a great time riding all around the streets and parks. For lunch we stopped at a hotdog stand. We were starving and had our bikes with us, but they were pretty good hotdogs. Then we stopped at Prescott Park to watch a jazz band show. We were quite impressed by one of the jazz bands we saw. The members were all 75 years or older, it was kind of funny to see but they played really well.
On the way home we stopped at one of our new favorite places- Flag Hill Winery in Lee, New Hampshire. They have their vineyards right on site and they have wine tasting. We both like their blueberry wine and I like their strawberry wine. We always leave there feeling good with a 1/2 case of wine. I bet that is their trick.

Jamie leading the way (as always), notice how far back I am. I like to take my time.

Scooter says "IT'S HOT"!

This is how you know it is hot because Scooter lies like this:

Yes, he is a flexible cat and is able to flatten his back legs to the floor. But, he only does it when he is hot! I know it is strange. Scooter even did this at the Vet. The Vet stopped in mid-sentence and laughed saying he has never seen a cat lie like this only dogs.

For readers that do not live in New England we went from having 50 degree weather to 95 degree weather in a matter of 2 days.

We have painted walls & tiles!

Here are the latest pictures of our bathroom. We had a little paint problem. The paint we had picked out and had our bathroom guy use did not match the tile. So this morning Jamie and I painted it ourselves in a different color. We were happy with the outcome. It is a light tan even though it looks white in these pictures.

This last picture is the new bathroom linen closet (it will be getting painted linen white like all the trim in our house). There was no closet before. There was only a stall shower and a door to our bedroom. The previous owners had gutted the bathroom and closed the door up, but of course left us the job of actually redoing the bathroom.

Terri's Marathon

If you haven't had a chance to check out my sister-in-law's blog I suggest you do. It is a great blog about Terri's running developments. Also Terri decided that she will be doing a marathon in Maine in the fall. She will be raising money for leukemia, lymphoma, hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma. Please check out her team's website too. Jamie and I are proud of her!

Trying To Make It To June 23rd!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Jamie and I have been trying survive the end of our school year. This is always a busy time of year for us. Jamie is trying to tie up his end of the year testing and different school events. Last week he was the MC for CITIZENSHIP DAY at his school. LOL Apparently he does such a great job calling buses he got nominated. He also has been doing some landscaping afterschool/weekends. Last weekend we helped his parents with a yard sale and this weekend we are helping his brother and wife (Andy & CarolAnn) move from Boston to Providence. I have been busy at work finishing up my last course (YEAH) and of course end of the year things in my classroom: portfolios, testing etc. Next week I am attending the high school graduation. This is the first class I had that will be graduating. I did get invited to attend by a former student, which was nice. The school year finishes up for us on June 23rd. We can't wait! Although our summer will be busy as usual, but we are hoping for some good down time too.

This picture I had and thought I would throw on this post. It is of Jamie and I on the top of Mount Monadnock.

April Vacation

Well as some of you may know the last few weeks have been a bit challenging for us. We are doing well though and were able to squeeze in a pretty relaxing April vacation down the Cape. We ended up having some beautiful weather while we were down there. So we headed to a beach in Sandwich one day. We also visited the Heritage Museum in Sandwich, which has some beautiful gardens and many antique cars.
