House Updates

When we bought our house the first big project was the living room. This involved removing a lot of wallpaper, painting and putting down a new hardwood floor. Jamie and I did a lot of it ourselves, but we were also lucky to have our family and friends help us too. The top picture is the before and the bottom two are the after. Also since these pictures were taken we have added cranberry curtains, white cloth shades and the same rug but larger. There will be more house construction pictures to come as our bathroom renovation will be starting this week.

We have tulips too!

Okay, well they are not technically coming from the ground, but we have them right? We got about 4-5 more inches of snow yesterday, but we have a new approach. Our new approach is not to shovel and drive over the snow as fast as we can to get up the driveway.
Seeing that it is going to be 60 degrees in two days, it has to melt right?

February 2008

During February Vacation we decided we needed a break from all the snow and headed to the Cape. It was nice and quiet down there but still cold. We took a ride to Truro where there was a shipwreck that washed up on shore.

"On January 28th a winter storm washed the remains of this 19th century schooner up onto the beach. Schooners were the workhorses of Cape Cod shipping. It is estimated that over 3000 ships have wrecked off Cape Cod since the 1620s."

Winter of 2007

Well, all we can say is we have definitely had a long winter this year. We are sick of the snow and are glad that the first day of spring is tomorrow. We are hoping that our snow will melt by the time we get out of work in June. This picture was taken yesterday, as you can see we have a lot of melting to go.

Scooter

This is our cat that we adopted in September of 2007. He is such a great cat. Jamie had a weak moment and woke up one morning and said "We should get a cat?" Before he changed his mind I quickly dragged him off to an animal shelter in Bedford, NH. At the shelter when we were looking in the cages at all the adult cats Jamie said "Hello Scooter do you want to come home with us?" Scooter immediately stood up and meowed and that was the end of Scooter's month stay at the shelter. He quickly adjusted to a lovely and spoiled life with us. In this picture he is enjoying his vacation time down the Cape.
