Guest Bedroom Renovation

This summer one of my goals was to paint our guest room. As you can see from the pictures below it was bright blue and had dark wood trim. So I painted the walls a light yellow and the trim and doors white to match the rest of the house. Also this past week we got new windows in our upstairs, they are not in the following pictures.
Every room in our house has now been painted by us except our office. The rooms we have painted include our kitchen, hallway, living room, downstairs bathroom, dining room, master bedroom, upstairs hallway, upstairs bathroom and guest bedroom. Scary to think how many hours we have spent painting. :)

Our New Shed

Jamie and I decided that we needed some additonal outside storage. So while I was away with some girlfriends he decided that he would start building a shed. He was able to construct this 8x8 shed within a matter of a few weeks, with the help from his friend Ron, my brothers Joe and Bill, Jamie's brother Andy and Jamie's Dad Bob.
It came out great and freed up a lot of room for us.
The shed under construction. Jamie, Ron, Bill and Joe all hard at work.
BTW I got in trouble for taking this picture because there was a thunderstorm brewing and they thought the flash of the camera was lightening. Whoops!

The final product. We haven't painted it yet, right now it is just primed.

We have painted walls & tiles!

Here are the latest pictures of our bathroom. We had a little paint problem. The paint we had picked out and had our bathroom guy use did not match the tile. So this morning Jamie and I painted it ourselves in a different color. We were happy with the outcome. It is a light tan even though it looks white in these pictures.

This last picture is the new bathroom linen closet (it will be getting painted linen white like all the trim in our house). There was no closet before. There was only a stall shower and a door to our bedroom. The previous owners had gutted the bathroom and closed the door up, but of course left us the job of actually redoing the bathroom.

We have a tub!

So our bathroom construction has begun.
We are not doing it ourselves (Thank God!).

First Picture is before, second and third are after!

Yes, we still have snow!

I took these pictures today Saturday, April 12, 2008. Although the snow has melted in the last week we still have more to go!

Also check out the two blogs on the right. One is my friend Heather's Blog, she lives in rural Maine. The other is my sister-in-law Terri's blog, she has started a running blog to keep her motivated!

House Updates

When we bought our house the first big project was the living room. This involved removing a lot of wallpaper, painting and putting down a new hardwood floor. Jamie and I did a lot of it ourselves, but we were also lucky to have our family and friends help us too. The top picture is the before and the bottom two are the after. Also since these pictures were taken we have added cranberry curtains, white cloth shades and the same rug but larger. There will be more house construction pictures to come as our bathroom renovation will be starting this week.

We have tulips too!

Okay, well they are not technically coming from the ground, but we have them right? We got about 4-5 more inches of snow yesterday, but we have a new approach. Our new approach is not to shovel and drive over the snow as fast as we can to get up the driveway.
Seeing that it is going to be 60 degrees in two days, it has to melt right?

Winter of 2007

Well, all we can say is we have definitely had a long winter this year. We are sick of the snow and are glad that the first day of spring is tomorrow. We are hoping that our snow will melt by the time we get out of work in June. This picture was taken yesterday, as you can see we have a lot of melting to go.
